X is good for publishing long posts, not for writing them

Plenty of people write in Obsidian, Notion, or Typora, then lay the whole thing out again in X. xPoster handles that last hand-off.

• Copying paragraph by paragraph and redoing headings, lists, and bold → Headings, lists, and bold arrive in X as written
• Finding each image and uploading it in the right spot → Images upload on their own and land where they belong

What it does

Written into X, not pasted into X

xPoster breaks your Markdown into a title, paragraphs, images, tables, code, and posts, then writes each one into the X Article editor. The Publish button stays yours.

• The frontmatter title or first heading becomes the title; the first image can be the cover
• Pick the image folder once for local images; allow a site once for web images
• Drag in several articles and they're written one by one (members)
• If the article already has content, add yours to the end without touching the title or cover

Beyond writing, the everyday jobs of an X account are here too. They read only what the current X page has loaded and send nothing anywhere.

X changes its editor often. xPoster checks the page, the editor, and your images before writing, and tells you in one sentence what to do when something's missing.

Get started

1. Add to Chrome and sign in Install it from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your Xiaoxiaodong account; new accounts get a 7-day full trial.
2. Start a new article on X Open x.com/compose/articles and click the extension icon to open the side panel.
3. Drop in Markdown and click Write to X Paste, open a .md file, or drag it in; check it on X, then publish yourself.

Questions

Does it publish for me?

No. xPoster only writes an X Article draft; you decide whether and when to publish on X.

Which Markdown does it support?

Headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, bold, italics, inline code, links, code blocks, dividers, images, tables, and post links, plus title and cover in frontmatter.

What about local images?

Choose the folder your images are in the first time you write. Web images need permission for their site; any that can't be downloaded stay as links instead of disappearing.

Can it write regular posts or threads?

Writing goes into X Articles only. To turn an article into a thread, use Split into thread in the dock and post it yourself.

Are my drafts uploaded?

No. Drafts, history, and covers stay in your browser, with no analytics. Your account only confirms membership, and AI tools send only the text you choose to the AI service you set up.

Do the AI tools cost extra?

They run on your own key, billed by your AI provider; in xPoster, the AI tools are a member feature.

What if an X update breaks it?

Click Copy diagnostics under Settings › About and send it to @xiaoxiaodong01 on X; fixes usually come quickly.
